Goodyear Blimp over University Place

Good Year BlimpI hadn’t seen the Good Year Blimp in years, but there it was flying over University Place during the U.S. Open. This photo was taken on June 18th and it is the very best that my camera could do on full zoom.

There are three Goodyear blimps in the fleet and I suspect that this one is the Spirit of America, which is based out of Carson, California. More information on this particular blimp can be found here. The official Goodyear Blimp website has a great deal more information about these wonderful, helium filled flight machines. They have a regularly updated Facebook page too!

Good Year Blimp2

Airports, Texas & Washington State

Today was a traveling day with stops at the Dallas Fort Worth international Airport (DFW), George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston and SeaTac International Airport. The photos are a mixture of the three spots.

Clouds, thinking about snow

Today’s new place is the sky! We had such lovely colors in the clouds as evening approached that I just had to take a few photographs! They say it might snow tonight, so I guess they are snow clouds.

One of my favorite cloud blogs (OK the only one I know about!) can be found here. http://www.clouds365.com/year2/

I’ve also included a photo from the last full moon, which also features some amazingly lovely clouds!  And, while I’m at it, one more of a lovely sunset sky.

Dark Clouds at Sea-Tac Airport

Today’s new place is the Sea-Tac airport, with the photo taken from the top floor of the Doubletree Inn (yesterday’s new place).  This photo was a happy accident because I was just lost looking for a meeting that I thought was upstarts.  It wasn’t, but this lovely view was!  Considering the photo was taken with my phone, I thought it came out pretty well 🙂 The photo below was taken the next day with the better camera, though it doesn’t look all that different.  The airport is the 18th busiest in the country and is the primary hub for Alaskan Air.  When I checked into the airport on my FourSquare App, there were already 43 people checked in there.
