Before my book group on Monday, I ate at Pho Than Brothers at 1712 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma, WA 98402. This chain of restaurants got its start in 1996 in North Seattle. There are 18 locations, all in the Puget Sound area. Dinner includes delicious pho and included a cream puff. I’m sure this location serves students from both Tacoma’s School of the Arts, University of Washington Tacoma and visitors to the near by history, arts and glass museums.

Pho Hoang Restaurant
Dear husband and I ventured up to Federal Way for a movie and grabbed a quick dinner at Pho Hoang Restaurant, 31871 Gateway Center Blvd S, Federal Way, WA. Because of time restraints, I went with the two fresh spring rolls and they were very good. The highlight of the restaurant is this wonderful wooden Seattle skyline.

Pho PQ
Dear daughter told me that she had to eat veggie fried rice from Pho PQ at 10706 Bridgeport Way in Lakewood. She had been there with her friend and declared it delicious. So I ordered dinner to go and it was indeed delicious and there is plenty for lunch tomorrow. I told the counter guy who ran me up that it was my first time there and he smiled and said, see you tomorrow! I do so like an optimist!
Vien Dong in Tacoma’s Lincoln District
Wow! Vien Dong at 3801 Yakima Avenue in Tacoma’s Lincoln District has some tasty Vietnamese food and so reasonably priced. I was delighted (delighted, I tell you!) to meet a dear friend here for the first time. We both had the #11 (pho) with a fresh spring roll. It was the best pho I’d ever had and there was so very much of it that I had enough for lunch today. It says a lot for a restaurant when it is still very busy at 2 in the afternoon. The restaurant itself isn’t fancy, but the food makes it worth the trip.
