The building at 1302 Tacoma Avenue, Tacoma is mixed use property with the Tacoma Avenue frontage having a vacant convenience store/deli and the part fronting South 13th Street having apartments. I remember when the convenience store was open and it never seemed very welcoming to me. Since its been vacant, it has been repainted to a pleasant dark green. The building in 1926.
A little ways back I purchased a Living Social coupon for Classic Coffee at 7609 Custer Road in Lakewood. It was a buy a $20 coupon for $10 coupon and today I stopped to pick up fruit smoothies for dear daughter and me.
Lunch today with some of my favorite people at 208 Garfield,which sensably enough is located at 208 Garfield Street South, Tacoma, WA near PLU. The restaurant really has a great menu. I had a delicious grilled cheese with grilled red onions and a small side salad for only $4! I also had a filter dripped coffee for $2.
The place I had in mind for today didn’t work out, but driving around I found this lovely dead-end on South 40th Street just east of East C Street.On the other side of the barrier is a ravine.
There are twelve Cutters Point Coffee Shops, 11 in the Puget Sound area and one in Savannah, Georgia. There first shop was founded in Gig Harbor in 2001. This Cutters Point is at 1936 Pacific Avenue, Tacoma, WA and is an asset to the museum/school vibe of the area. Inside there is a fireplace, comfy chairs, tables to work at and some fun artwork. I like that they have their logo installed on the floor — its classy.

After our coffee break dear daughter and I went to the Washington State History Museum to see the exhibit on the Great Depression. It was great!

I hadn’t realized this Forza at 2700 Bridgeport way in University Place existed. It’s a typical, well done Forza with a small, private meeting room. There are 15 Forza locations, down from 23 locations in 2/2011.
Wright’s Park is very lovely this time of year with all of the fall colors, though it was breezy and rather cool. Today I took a stroll through the park and stopped to admire the 1978 bronze sculpture titled Trilogy by artist Larry Anderson. It is located on an island in a duck pond. Larry Anderson graduated from Tacoma’s Lincoln High School.
The commercial building at 917 North 2nd Street Tacoma, WA 98403 was constructed in 1921. I was in the neighboring Ugly Bean coffee shop when I snapped the photo this morning.
I go to Molbak’s at 13625 NE 175th St., Woodinville, WA 98072 whenever I’m in Woodinville, which isn’t all that often. It is one of the largest nurseries in the Puget Sound with indoor and outdoor areas, gifts and a cafe.

Alber’s Mill a 1821 Dock Street in Tacoma was constructed in 1904 and was originally occupied by Albers Brothers Milling Company, which made cereal.
