I was sent to Rite Aid at1850 South Mildred Street (James Center),Tacoma, WA 98465 for index cards today. While there I admired there selection of Valentine’s Cards. I then played with the image using http://pixenate.com/ for the heart shape and http://www.befunky.com/ for the tones.

So I stopped at McBride’s Hallmark at 3822 Bridgeport Way, University Place today to buy a father’s day card and took these two photos. I planned to go inside and take lots of interesting photos, but I was overwhelmed with interesting cards and forgot! What can I say? Hallmark’s website is here http://www.hallmark.com/online/
The Giving Place has been in Freighthouse Square since 1997. Fifty percent of their net profits goes to local people in need. The store has gifts, snacks, cards, lottery tickets and much more.
January 2013 Update: I was sad to see that The Giving Place was gone. They had been there so long, it was a tad shocking to see the space occupied by a different tenant.
February 2013 Update: The Giving Place lives! It’s just down at the other end of Freighthouse Square. I’m so glad.

I had thought the new place of the day’s name was Juxtapoz because of the large sign over the door, but it turns out that the store is called What? Shoppe and Juxtapoz is an online magazine. The store is crowded with an interesting assortment of unusual merchandise demanding some serious browsing time. I noticed t-shirts, figurines, wigs, cards, posters, model train stuff and much more. This is a great place to find a present for a hard to please young adult.
